The world’s first art exhibition created on acoustic panels
Flexicel presents Mundo Whisper, the world’s first art exhibition using Whisper acoustic panels as an artistic medium. The exhibition opens on February 3rd, 2026 at 5:00 pm at the Col·legi d’Arquitectes de Catalunya (COAC), Picasso Space, Plaça Nova 5, Barcelona.
Mundo Whisper explores the intersection of contemporary art, materiality and acoustic technology, introducing a new creative territory where a sound-absorbing material becomes an artistic surface. Thanks to its structure and composition, Whisper allows pigments to behave differently than on a traditional canvas, creating depth, texture and subtle three-dimensional effects that interact with the surrounding space.
The exhibition features works by artist Valentina Vencislavova, who has developed a series specifically conceived for this medium. Her work examines how the panel influences and expands the creative process, establishing a dialogue between light, colour, texture and acoustics.
The opening will be led by Joan Abelló, marking the official launch of a project that positions Barcelona as the starting point of a new approach to artistic support.
Mundo Whisper opens new possibilities for architects, designers, artists and cultural professionals interested in integrating aesthetics and acoustic performance, highlighting the versatility of Whisper beyond its traditional applications.
